Telematics Software for Heavy Commercial Vehicles
Fleet Management for DAF
Client: OHB Teledata, end customer: DAF Trucks N.V.
Start in 2005, end of operation in 2008 (delivery of end devices until 2011).
Based on the telematics system designed for the American lorry manufacturer PACCAR, we have developed a customized system for DAF N.V. which can be used on heavy commercial vehicles and which takes into consideration the individual demands of DAF N.V. This solution includes software for the telematics unit developed by OHB Teledata, communications components and an Internet portal.
The system links navigation with route management, bi-directional signalling via GPRS and the transmission of position and status data. The vehicle data which are recorded via the CAN bus - such as fuel consumption, kilometres driven or revolutions per minute - enable a differentiated evaluation of tours in the web portal, which has been specially designed for this very purpose.
The Telematics Software
The successful automotive design excels by its easy and safe handling even when the vehicle is moving. Its flexible design allows to integrate a multitude of languages. So far, 13 different languages are already available.
