In order to guarantee efficient and simple customs clearance, the DAKOSY system "ZAPP Air" is completed by a mobile add-on which can be used in the new system "Air@Gate mobile".

This is necessary due to the introduction of the ATLAS system (German customs software for electronic customs clearance) by the German customs authorities which became binding on 1st July 2009. The system replaces written customs declarations and administrative acts by electronic messages. Whoever still wants to benefit from simplified exportation processes now has to participate in ATLAS.
Our system based on active RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) permits the drivers of your delivery vehicles with an on-board mobile device to automatically inform ATLAS about the presentation of goods to customs. This saves time and money.
LEDs notify the driver of his status in the customs area
- customs post: checkpoint has been reached
- registration: automatic registration of the goods has occurred
- permission: permission to deliver the goods has been given at the loading ramp
- stop: delivery has to be examined by customs agents
The RFID tag on board the vehicle exchanges messages with the base stations, the so-called GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) gateways. Data are transmitted from the gateway to the communications server via GSM.
At present, we put into operation six gateways and ca. ten RFID mobile devices used by various freight forwarding companies for the pilot operation phase at the airports of Frankfurt, Cologne-Bonn and Munich. It is intended to extend the test runs to 100 mobile devices.
