Vehicle Data for Reports and Analyses

Reports and Analyses

Use the data collected from your vehicles or mobile units to enhance your services with regard to

  • transparency of costs
  • vehicle maintenance
  • disposition
  • surveillance

The data collected by the on-board CAN-bus, sensors or mobile devices are transmitted via GSM (GPRS, SMS) or via satellite (ORBCOMM, Inmarsat, Iridium). Depending on the technology which is used, it is possible to configure the interval between data transmissions or to make a request for an updated data set. The data are sent to our fleet management system TIPSweb or to our OEM portals where they are combined to different reports, according to the type and origin of the data. By accessing the data from the fleet management interface, you can also carry out a comparative analysis of mixed fleets.

Evaluating Your Data

Our developments permit to compile the incoming data of your units to individual reports in tabular or graphic form. Depending on the type of the on-board unit, you receive for example analyses of the driving behaviour, the vehicle status or the freight temperature and pressure. For further use, the online reports can be generated as PDF files and be exported as CSV files (which can be viewed with Excel).

Your data in the telematics portal are stored for at least six months. In case of a malfunction of the telematics hardware or of the portal service, these safety measures guard you from data losses.

Cost Savings

The analysis of the captioned data points out your possible savings. Amongst others, the following data are used as a basis for reports

  • average fuel consumption
  • tour-related fuel consumption
  • braking behaviour of each driver
  • periods of stand-still and engine idling
  • speed
  • engine speed range

The driving behaviour of your drivers can contribute significantly to lowering your running costs. Check your fuel consumption with reports which will give information about engine idling time, use of the cruise control or driving above certain engine speed ranges. In combination with driver assistance systems, you can thus considerably reduce fuel consumption. Reports can also be compiled on the basis of tours, which allows you for instance to receive order-related evaluations or to compare different routes. In order to visualise tours, it is possible to display the respective routes on the map. In addition, we have also developed nonstandard solutions, e.g. a function supporting the calculation of the US fuel tax, which varies by state.

State of the Vehicle and Maintenance Intervals

Accessing information like

  • distance to the next maintenanc
  • total operating hours
  • oil pressure
  • coolant temperature
  • fuel level etc.

permits you to keep an eye on your vehicle and to receive important indications on its status even from the distance. This helps you to plan the respective operating and maintenance times more effectively.

Scheduling Your Fleet

The general map and the position list show you at a glance where the vehicles of your fleet are and if they are in use or not. Thus you can quickly react to customer requests concerning the status of your deliveries.

Monitoring Critical Transports

When dealing with special transports such as transports of refrigerated goods or gas containers, we ensure a constant surveillance of

  • temperature
  • voltage
  • pressure

An individual captioning of any type of data is conceivable as well. The developing of the values is represented in the portal in tabular or graphic form. Additionally, we offer you to be informed by fax, email or SMS when important values suddenly exceed or fall below certain limits.
